Hello,
I hope you are doing well. Can anyone confirm if we the functionality for saving passwords can be disable from the Okta Plug-In? Our company has another official password manager and we want to block any others, including the credential manager in the Okta plug-in.

The Okta Plugin does not function like a traditional Password Manager. It is required for SWA type application functionality.
Please review this article for details.
You can manage some of the prompts the users will get but complete deactivation is not an option if your organization uses applications that require the plugin for SWA SSO.

I’ve had a quick look and the only thing I found explained how to set it manually, nothing about an enterprise config. Can the OKTA team confirm if this is a setting that can be centrally managed?
@CarlosP.57164 (Customer) If you are looking to prevent end-users from saving "personal apps" (non-org managed) with credentials in their dashboard, you can disable the option from Admin Console, go to Applications > Self Service > Settings tab > User App Requests -- uncheck Allow users to add personal apps.
That being said, this does not work retroactively, so if users already saved some apps (bookmarks + credentials), those will not be removed from their dashboard.

I am looking to disable the prompt of the plug-in. Can this change be applied to all employees from Admin Console? How can I apply this change? the prompts to save passwords from the Okta Plug-In
@CarlosP.57164 (Customer) The "Recommend strong passwords for apps" option cannot be managed centrally, but the "Prompt to save apps to your Okta dashboard" setting is the one I mentioned earlier.

I have the same doubt as well, we're trying to pin the Okta browser Plugin for the entire org (Databricks) but we want to disable the Password saving option... is there anything we can do from the Okta or Google admin console? any alternatives to let users not use this?
