okta-sign-in.min*.js files eating up disk space

Dear Community,

We are using Okta Windows Credential Provider for providing MFA at RDP logon, and we are faced with the issue that okta-sign-in.min*.js files are eating up disk space, one of our servers having almost 20 GB of such *js files in the "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE" folder.

Does anyone know why are these file for? Can we delete them?

  • Hi @Istv√°nB.83298 (KYNDRYL) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

Although not frequent, it seems to be an older issue with the cache files.

I've confirmed internally that those files can be deleted as there are no negative implications to this.

If you continue having issues with this and have an account with us, I recommend opening a case (SuperAdmin/Case Admin permissions required) to work with the Support team who can escalate to Engineering if needed to find a more permanent solution.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
