Unable to register a custom domain in OKTA trial account

Hello,

 

I'm reaching out today because, as part of our migration from the classic engine to OIE, we have created a trial account to conduct a POC.

 

Currently, we are experiencing an issue with custom domain validation. When we click "Next" to validate the configurations, it invalidates the current TXT value and generates a new one. We are using the recommended tools "https://dnschecker.org/*TXT/_acme-challenge.[OUR_IDP_URL]" and "https://dnschecker.org/all-dns-records-of-domain.php?rtype=TXT&dns=google&query=_acme-challenge.[OUR_IDP_URL]" to ensure that the DNS properly propagates and the values match. Despite waiting several extra hours, the problem persists. Could you help us with this?

 

We have an OKTA trial instance like this: https://trial-[TRIAL_ID]-admin.okta.com/

 

While looking for solutions we found this entry and followed the steps described there with the same result:

    This could be a limitation of the free trial org. If your company has a paid account, you may want to discuss a few options with your Account Executive, such as a preview org or a sandbox environment.

    Please note that additional features cannot be enabled for free orgs. If you would like to replicate your full environment in a testing org, it could be useful to have it linked to the company's main (paid) org. This way, your company could request additional features for the test org, as needed, as well as assistance via support tickets. Your Account Executive could guide you through the process.

     

    If you do not have a paid account but are interested in getting one, you can contact our Sales team.
