Okta requests notifications quality dropped since November 2024

Since November 2024 there are 3 issues with notifications sent by Okta:

  1. it is sent even action is not required by the person who it is sent to... meaning if first line manager needs to approve then also next person in the approval flow is notified. Plus one more notification is sent after it is approved.
  2. Notification is not sent when real action is required
  3. notification contains much less information then before and all notifications look same - even if its only informative or action required. So its completely useless, not helping to anyone.

Before November 2024

  1. only those people from whom action was required received notification
  2. notification clearly showed who requests and what is requesting

So no we get 2 emails instead of one and in all cases I have to login to Okta to check if action is really required. This doubles the efforts on each requests, double the time and double consumed data and energy. Turning off notification is not also option.

As users are not even notified when they loose access and they can not check what access they have, the Okta experience is terrible and we waste so much time on solving simple tasks which should be fully automated and customizable.

Hello @76ahb (76ahb) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

The Okta Community Questions forum isn't really meant for in-depth troubleshooting.

I recommend opening a case with Support and discuss with the assigned Technical Support Engineers. They'll be able to access additional tools and resources to help you get to the bottom of it.

Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!
