OIE UsePersistent cookie global policy is not working for social logins

Recently, we are experiencing an issue with Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) on iOS devices due to Apple's privacy policy. The mobile app ASWebAuthenticationSession browser has difficulty in reading SSO session cookies from the iOS Safari app. Following Okta's recommendation, we activated the "usePersistentCookies" global policy on OIE, which successfully resolved the Okta username/password flow. However, this solution did not work for social logins such as Apple ID or Google account flow. Interestingly, making the same policy changes on the Okta Classic engine works for social logins. Any reason why the "usePersistentCookies" policy in OIE does not work for social logins?

  • Hello @User17155626862108207854 (Customer) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

I have reviewed our doc for this and was unable to find anything specific in regards to Social logins. If everything is setup as per our documentation, in this case I would recommend to reach out to Support for additional investigation to see where the disconnect could be and provide assistance to resolve this matter.

Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!
