MohanA.38843 (Customer) asked a question.

Map IdP assertion attribute to ID Token claims without storing in Okta User Profile

Hello!

Wondering is there a way to map one of incoming SAML assertion from an IdP into a custom ID token claims?

I was trying with an expression as <saml_idp_1235>.<attribute> as the value for the custom claim, but the claim did not appear as expected in the token, whats the standard way to map the incoming SAML assertion attribute into the token claim.

TIA,

Mohan

  • Hi @MohanA.38843 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

As far I can see this not achievable, as the attributes would have to be in the Okta user profile to be mapped. The only tangential resource I found on this topic, is this.

That being said, this question is more appropriate for our dedicated Okta Developer Forum.

My advice would be to reach out via devforum.okta.com to take advantage of their expertise.

While we'll do our best to answer all of your questions here, this medium is more inclined towards Okta core products and features (non-custom/developer work).

    Regards.
