LeandroM.47656 (Customer) asked a question.

How to handle specific errors with okta sign on widget

I was exploring the GitHub collection of samples that Okta support shared with us.

I was testing this code and added the error log.

The problem I am encountering is that error E0000004 is a generic error. I have tested various scenarios, including a nonexistent user, an incorrect username and password, a locked user, a suspended user, and a user in a blocked group. In all cases, the message and code returned were the same.

Is there a way to receive at least 2 or 3 different error codes to differentiate between users who have errors after entering their credentials correctly and those who do not?

Thanks.

Hello @LeandroM.47656 (Customer) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

This question is more appropriate for our dedicated Okta Developer Forum.

My advice would be to reach out via devforum.okta.com to take advantage of their expertise.

While we'll do our best to answer all of your questions here, this medium is more inclined towards Okta core products and features (non-developer work).

Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!
