EugeneT.37507 (Customer) asked a question.

Administrator sets username and password

Greetings

Total N00b here that was tasked to get something done that lost me chasing my own tail.

So need to create an SWA for a login for people with the preset username/password

I chose such option -  Administrator sets username and password

Then Credentials Details show up and thats where i am stuck 😞

The username to be used it none of the options listed, its entirely different that anything actually user related. Something like ACMEUser-01@gmail.com and has nothing to do with the actual user (Lets say they loggin in as JSmith@AcmeCorp.com)

How would it be possibe?

Also i do not see option for the password outright. Where would that go?

THANK YOU

Hi @EugeneT.37507 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

I've tried to reproduce the scenario in a test org using Mailchimp. From the app's Sign On tab, click edit. Under the Credentials Details section, you can select (None) for the Application username format (see screenshot).

Screenshot 2024-07-20 at 00.37.48Once you save this setting, you need to assign the app. Because the administrator sets the password, assignment through groups is not recommended. Instead, choose to assign it to people. Go to the Assignments tab, click the blue Assign button and select Assign to People. After you find a user and click Assign, you will see a pop-up asking you to set up both the username and the password for the user's access to the SWA app.

    Regards.

    Ok. Thank you.

That seems to make sense to me however i cant test it yet

    Why not?

The app i am working on is corporate YouTube channel which uses Google account.

Which, in turn using 2-page login method with username on 1st page and password on the 2nd.

It seems to be quite involved to figure all those fields out for the template i found called - Template Two Page Plugin App

Would you be able to help me with settings
