Entitlement Management Across Multiple Applications

Hi Team,

I reviewed the OIG documentation - https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/frequently-asked-questions-about-entitlement-management?language=en_US and understand that the entitlement bundles are application specific. Do we have a way to bundle entitlements from different applications and assign it to users? Basically looking for a enterprise role capability comprised of multiple application entitlements.

With entitlement bundles being application specific, it would be tedious to manage entitlement bundles & policy on the application level for a group of users needing access to multiple applications. Appreciate your insights on how we can achieve enterprise role capability in OIG.

Thanks,

Siva

Hi @SivagamiA.71477 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community!

There have been discussions in this Ask Me Anything event relating to OIG entitlement bundles.

Please have a look and let me know if you found it helpful.

Thanks @User17157611498146715886 (Customer Support Online Community and Social Care)! I did go through the page and I understand the usage of entitlement bundles which are application specific.

I'm just unable to find the solution in the AMA discussion for a use-case where we have to combine entitlements from different applications into a bundle and assign it to the users instead of separate creating entitlement bundles for each application.

For example: Let's say I want to assign 5 application's access as birthright to all the users who join the organization, I need to create an entitlement bundle for all 5 applications separately and create 5 policy rules - one for each application and assign it to an Okta group that contains all the active users. This process is kind of overwhelming as we are managing 5 entitlement policies and 5 entitlement bundles in comparison to a general enterprise role concept where we create one bundle and have a single policy to assign entitlements from all 5 application as birthright to users.

Please review the use case and appreciate the insights on how we can achieve this in OIG.
