Okta Endpoint Error- 503 (service unavailable) - triggered daily but infrequent

Hi team,

 

Infrequently almost daily, we receive a triggered 503 error. What can possibly be the root cause to causing these errors? This is ongoing as did have a ticket open in past so asking here.

If you can please advise what could be causing this, will appreciate, as we currently monitor directly the health and perf of the APIs every 2 minutes.

    Hi @tdzjx (tdzjx)​ , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community! 

     

    I had a chance to review your support ticket and it seems to conclude that the root cause of the issue is not on the Okta services side. Unfortunately, the specific cause could not be identified. 

    I tried to look for any other similar reports and there were non for that specific end point.  

    Whenever the case, general service issues with availability is posted on status.okta.com with details, aside from that, specific use cases would have to be investigated individually. 

    Looking at other 503 reported issues which were not related to the endpoint you mentioned, the root cause seems to be third-party related, for example load-balancers causing the issue.  

    I'm sorry to say that we won't be able to provide more details or a solution for this issue, but this question will remain open in case anyone else in the Okta Community can provide additional insight into the matter.
