We use a software called Zerto to provide disaster recovery services at a secondary site. We are in the process of installing the Okta advanced server access agents at the main site but now have a concern on what happens if the servers at the recovery site are brought up as part of a DR test.
For those not familiar with Zerto, what it does is maintains a current copy of the primary site VMs on a remote set of machines (in our case vCenter) that are identical to the originals. Therefore when the disaster site is needed the VMs are spun up with the exact same configuration as the original hosts.
However, we need to run DR tests on occasion and are unsure what happens if these remote copies of the servers are brought up while production is also active. The IP addresses are changed automatically by the Zerto/vCenter integration but the name and any agent information will be duplicated.
What will happen in this case? Our fear is that at worst the conflict brings access down access to the production servers which could severly stop the okta rollout.
