MaksymB.91193 (Customer) asked a question.

Enabling shared primary GIDs in Advanced Server Access

I am trying to set the same primary group for all users in a group, but getting following error:

Users with conflicting attributes will not be synced to servers. The following user attributes must be unique:

  • Unix Username
  • Windows Username
  • Unix UID
  • Unix GID (If shared primary GIDs are not enabled)

So I want to enabled shared primary GIDs but I can't find this configuration option anywhere.

Advice please, how can I enable shared primary GIDs?

Hi @MaksymB.91193 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I’ve been looking into this and it seems that in order to enable shared primary GIDs you’ll require a feature flag to be enabled for your environment.

Please open a case and discuss the matter with my colleagues from the Support Team. They should be able to assist you with the request.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
