ofzav (ofzav) asked a question.

The `okta.myAccount.email.read` scope doesn't exist on my default authorization server.

Hey team!

I'm using the default authorization server created by Okta, however, when I check the scopes it has I can't find any scope under `okta.myAccount`!

I was wondering if there's anything wrong with my configuration? Perhaps someone in my organization changed something with the default server?

Thank you for the help!

  • Hi @ofzav (ofzav) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I checked my default testing org (Okta Classic) and could not see that scope either, then checked the documentation and it mentions that it’s only available for OIE, so I logged into my OIE test org and confirmed it’s there by default with no additional configuration.

If you don’t know what type of org you have, you can confirm by opening a new browser tab and going to <your org URL here>/.well-known/okta-organization (example: randomtest123456org.oktapreview.com/.well-known/okta-organization) and check the pipeline value:

    • pipeline: “v1” - for Okta Classic orgs
    • pipeline: “idx” - for OIE (Okta Identity Engine) orgs

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
