btlmr (btlmr) asked a question.
Sharepoint people picker only populate email as Display name
Hi,
The people picker is not populating the display name when the user is added to the site. It shows email as the Name.
But no luck.
My environment is Sharepoint 2019.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hello @btlmr (btlmr) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!
I would recommend to review the mappings and make sure that the mapping does not point to the email attribute. Please also see our doc :

Hey @Paul S. (Okta, Inc.) Thanks for the suggestion. Could you take a look at the mapping in our application and suggest if you see any issues?
Search scope level is set to App.
Hello @btlmr (btlmr) From the screenshot provided it seems that you are only sending FirstName, LastName and Email as attributes to Sharepoint. You should add more attributes to resolve your issue.

Thanks for the suggestion @Paul S. (Okta, Inc.) , we will try and let you know.
@Paul S. (Okta, Inc.) We have checked the mapping and it is the default mapping created when the sharepoint app is created. The strange thing is, with the same mappings there is no issue in our SharePoint 2013 environment.
Does it make any difference in Sharepoint 2019? Additionally we need to know if user profile service application(UPS) is a must have for profile sync from OKTA?
