I know we can set maximum Okta global session lifetime in Global session policy.
I have some question about how does okta persist the session lifetime.
Is it written in cookie? if it is why is it not removed if i close the browser.

Hi, @989ag (989ag)
Thank you for posting on our Community page!
The global session policy controls how long an overall session is valid, but re-authentication frequency is controlled by authentication policy rules.
You can enable or disable session cookies to persist across browser sessions.
You can find more info on the subject here: https://help.okta.com/oie/en-us/content/topics/identity-engine/policies/add-okta-sign-on-policy-rule.htm
