Hello everyone,
I've started configuring Office 365 in Okta, I haven't federated the domain yet as all users will be redirected to Okta so I want to run a test with a test domain name.
For our domain name test.fr (this is an example,) it appears in domain on azure as testfr.onmicrosoft.com and test.fr. It's a public domain
I added a local domain, from domain and site active directory test.local, created a user from our AD with the upn test.local but after replication, the username is user@testfr. onmicrosoft.com on our tenant, and not user@testlocal.omnicrosoft.com
Do you think this is possible? Can I test with a local domain name? Do I need a public domain to run these tests?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Denis

Hello @DenisG.67393 (Customer) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!
I would say this would be expected behaviour, as that domain does not exist in Azure thus creating a user on the default domain which is @microsoft.com, however this question would be best asked MS Support.
On my tests with Azure I found that you can create a custom domain on Azure side which you can use for testing and that particular domain can also be federated with Okta for additional testing.
