Hi Everyone,
I am trying to set up MFA for an okta service account where the MFA code will be generated by a virtual MFA app, That app requires uses the secret key provided by the path: Scan QR code -> Click can't scan QR code -> and at this point i should be prompted with a secret key. However instead of the secret key i recieve send me an email or send me a text message ( that targets my cell phone ), instead of the secret key.
The question is why this is the case for my service account while in a different dev okta instance i am able to retrieve the secret key. Can you point me to the documentation or refernce that differenciates the two types of MFA enrollement ( with secret key upon can't scan QR code or with email/text message upon scaning QR code ).
I have already tried to reach my IT team responsible of the okta application and they can't help me on this matter. i was also unable to find the relative documentation appreciate any help!
Thanks in advance!

Hi, @4vitg (4vitg)
Thank you for posting on our Community page!
Please reach out to the company's or service provider's IT support or Okta Admin so they can provide further assistance.
While Okta provides the Product, individual account management is handled by your company or service provider.
It might have happened that they made changes to the authentication policies or that your device is not enrolled properly. In both cases, I recommend resetting the MFA or re-enrolling the device.
Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!
