RossM.59830 (Blithe) asked a question.
When my users try to login to Linux under AsA, they get "Access Denied".
I can see it provisions the account, assigns a home directory, and a default group. When they log in with the UNIX username and password assigned by Okta, it says "Access Denied". Any help?

Hi @RossM.59830 (Blithe) ,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this ASA issue. It seems you are having issues SSH'ing to Linux servers.
One common cause for issues SSH'ing to Linux servers via ASA would be if the ASA server failed to provision the local user account (for example, due to conflicts with existing local users), but it looks like you have already ruled this out.
Based on your description, I am wondering how exactly you are attempting to access the server? I would recommend trying to initiate the session from the ASA dashboard or from your ASA client using the "sft ssh" command. The users that ASA provisions to the servers do not have static passwords, and so it would not work to attempt to SSH directly to the Linux server with your Okta credentials. Generally the flow for using ASA is to first login to ASA (using your Okta credentials), and then use ASA to SSH to your target server.
For more details on SSH setup with ASA, please see: https://help.okta.com/asa/en-us/content/topics/adv_server_access/docs/setup/ssh.htm
If you are still having issues with these methods, there could be a variety of causes such as issues with the sshd_config on the servers. To further investigate, I would suggest opening a support case and collecting support bundles from the affected client and server.
For more details on collecting support bundle, please see: https://help.okta.com/asa/en-us/content/topics/adv_server_access/docs/support.htm
I hope this helps, if any further issues please let us know!
