User Data Backup

Hi.

We would like to know if Okta performs a User-level information backup.

For example, if accidently a large number of users got deleted from the tenant, would Okta (e.g. support etc..) be able to restore the users from their end?

Thanks,

  • Paul S. (Okta, Inc.)

Hello @31ycb (31ycb) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

Unfortunately we do not offer back-up if your users are deleted.

However you can add a Feature Request on our Idea section, for a chance that this functionality to be added in the future.

Thanks Paul for the quick reply, and the info.

I know that Okta has build redundancy at each layer of the technology stack. So we're wondering if an issue for example occurs because of Okta UD get corrupted or other failures, couldn't Okta restore to the previous states of the tenant?

    Thanks,

In that particular case, yes Okta should be able to restore the tenant. However if the delete process has been done by an admin by mistake, then a restore is highly unlikely.

However I do recommend to have this discussion with your Account executive at Okta and they should be able to provide more details on this matter.
