lmdos (lmdos) asked a question.
Hi, My company is looking to onboard with Okta. We are looking to use Okta for 10 applications with single sign on.
The one thing I like to know that if there is possibility to test five applications before we migrate all users to Okta.
So What I am looking for is to setup five applications with SSO in Okta and have 10 - 15 users to test five applications and sign off on them.
We want all other users including test users to use the application as usual (outside Okta) to perform their day-to-day job.
Let me know please if we can have test environment for testing for five applications with 10 - 15 users? We want to test application in Okta without any interruption to production environment
Thanks

Hi Rollers. The straight answer is that this is not an Okta question. It is the application ( SP ) side that determines how SSO is implemented. If the SSO configuration in your target applications is enabled for everyone when applied, then you will block access to users that are not onboarded to Okta. So you need to look at the apps you are looking to onboard, and check their SSO intructions to determine whether SSO can be enabled as optional, or for a limited set of users or sometimes they allow a 'test' mode. I've just done exactly this for a large customer with a large application estate for a PoC. Found candidates that supported optional SSO ( through a variety of means ) and then onboarded those.
