Hi,
What happens if you delete an application off Okta, will it grant access to all users or will it just stop functioning?
Some background on this is that I have created a working OKTA link to an application and have tested with a small handful of users, however it is in the Testing environment and not all users from my company is on that. I am afraid that once I delete the application off OKTA testing site, it might cause be more complicated. I have tried deactivating it and it completely denies access to all users, hence my worry.
Is there a workaround to delete the application off OKTA or to transfer the data link to my production side in OKTA?
Thank you and Warmest Regards,
Wong Jia Jun

Hi! If your application is configured to send users to Okta for authentication, deleting (or deactivating) the app will result in your users not being able to authenticate. I would recommend that if you are wanting to migrate from your preview org to your production one, you will need to re-configure the app in the new org and update your application with the new information as a result. If your desire is to remove Okta from the picture all together, then you will need to reconfigure the application to utilize another means of authentication, whether it be a different SSO service or simply username/password or even Active Directory. However, to answer your question, deactivating/deleting the application will result in loss of functionality for has been configured, and Okta will no longer manage your users authentication/provisioning/etc.
Please feel free to follow up with any further questions or concerns. Thanks!
