dmhb6 (dmhb6) asked a question.

Is there a way to bulk update existing user attributes through import?

We have 60 user records that have been bulk imported via CSV template and the user has input data in the wrong column in the template. Is there a way that we can just update the records in bulk rather than rectifying them one a time? It throws an error at the moment on import as the username is unique and it already exists in Okta, which is valid. I just need to update not create.

I also have a data cleanse exercise coming up and we have lots of records where I need to bulk update.

FYI - I am not an Okta dev/tech but I do maintain/provision our Okta user accounts but if you have any tech solutions I can get our devs to action e.g. creating update API.

Download Rockstar Plugin. Export all users, then delete ALL users except the 60 which you want to update. Update the attribute data which you want to update for these users and then also make sure that in the Profile Editor > Okta User you change the source priority from (whatever you have) to "Inherit from Okta". If the priority is already set on it for that attribute then you are good. Now import the file again and you should see the updated data in the attribute for that 60 users.

Make sure to change the source priority if that was updated by you.

Thanks so much Sashank! I will give that a try. I have Rockstar already, it's been a life saver for me.
