Hey,
I'm trying to edit a custom SAML application with the following API endpoint: /api/v1/apps/{applicationId}
The application in already status INACTIVE, and no matter what field I try to change (even label), I get the following error:
errorCode: 'E0000024'
errorSummary: 'Bad request. This operation on app metadata is not yet supported.'
errorCauses: [ error:Summary: 'This operation on app metadata is not yet supported: No active instances.' ]
When I activate the application and try again it works, doing the same changes from the UI (admin console) works as well
I have a developer account and I haven't reached the maximum number of app allowed
Any help will be appreciated 🙂

Just tested this in my environment, and I've been able to reproduce this behavior as well.
That being said, judging by the explicit error received I would categorize this as expected or product limitation, if you will.
To clarify, the GUI leverages functions that are not necessary made available to the Public API, so there isn't much you can do about it now.
You can however, suggest a feature change/enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.
