lkebe (lkebe) asked a question.
Hello Okta support
This is a new request, regarding the answer i got from one of your partners last week:
Okta crendtial provider for windows server 2022 [ ref:_00DA0KWYD._5004z1lFcjr:ref ]
Unfortunately though, it still doesn't work despite several attempts to reinstall, debugging via both the log created from the okta config file and the information generated via windows eventviewer.
I have tried installing the agent with version 3.1.4 as well as the new updated version 3.1.8.
Also tried to follow the provided instructions from OKTA support.
I managed to set up a new test-template with everything just to make sure that it wasn’t any problems with the ordinary template. (same problem still remain though)
Other steps I tried to solve is:
1: Open the service manager and search for the services that are correlated to the software but I cant find anything useful.
2: I cant find the Okta Agent Provider services even if a reinstall the package or try to repair it.
3: Permanent delete of the directories that contained after the OKTA agent software were installed.
3: The alternative to start/stop the services could unfortunately be done in because of this.
4: Also tried to restart some processes that I thought could have something to do with all the integrated services but still nothing.
5: Closed the service manager and restarted the computer (doesn’t work either)
When you log out of the Server and trying to logging in it says “Okta Credential Provider failed”.
The only information in the OKTA log file is the attached jpg file.
I would appreciate some help to solve this as soon as possible.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for raising this case with Okta on the Community Forum.
Unfortunately we are unable to view or read your attachment here for some reasons:
For your Configuration file, can you check if your Okta URL is correctly filled without the "/" at the end of it?, see example below:
{
"Url": "https://abc.okta.com",
"ClientId": ".x.x..x.x.x.x",
"ClientSecret": "<****>",
"FilterCredentialProvider": true/false
....
Regarding your Okta Credential Provider installation issue, I highly recommend you to submit a new Okta Support case from your Okta Help Center as this might be complex and lengthy to investigate.
Additional, it is the best for support to join a meeting to review your installation process or config file.
Having said that, I've gathered some of the useful links or guides for Credential Provider specific. Feel free to review them and hope that helps:
Have a great day ahead!
