User provisioning in Salesforce through Salesforce App does not work after change in API Authentication mechanism

We make use of Salesforce App for provisioning users from Okta to Salesforce. It used to work in the past but now the credentials (Username and password+Token) has been replaced with OAuth Customer Key & Secret. I followed the instructions as per this okta support link (https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/Salesforce-app-asks-for-OAuth-Consumer-Key-and-Secret-for-Provisioning?language=en_US) and created a consumer key and secret. I updated the Salesforce app with the newly created credentials but still provisioning does not work and given an error that the credentials are not valid. I do not know how to debug this problem and resolve it. Could you please help ?
