9w22a (9w22a) asked a question.

Can I use redirect authentication with a self-hosted login page?

We need to use the "redirect authentication" model, where the client applications redirect to another site to log in, and are redirected back with the authentication information. So multiple different applications share the same login page.

In all the documentation, the external site is the Okta-hosted login page. However, we need to write and host this application ourselves due to extensive customizations and CI/CD processes. Is it possible to achieve this using the Okta Sign In Widget, and are there any examples of doing this?

Thank you

  • Hi @9w22a (9w22a) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

There are some use cases discussed on the main doc referring to Android/iOS sign in using redirect:

    https://developer.okta.com/docs/guides/embedded-siw/main/#mobile-sdks

Beyond that, I do not have access to any examples for your use case.

My advice would be to reach out to the devforum.okta.com to take advantage of their expertise.

While we'll do our best to answer all of your questions here, this medium is more inclined towards Okta core products.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
