VictorK.52186 (Customer) asked a question.

How to troubleshoot unexplained disconnections and reconnections?

The last few days I've been getting some random alerts that one of the agents stopped connecting and a couple of minutes later that it reconnected. Sometimes one agent, sometimes the other. The alert about it reconnecting comes before I'm able to look into it.

Today after a disconnection alert I had time to RDP into the server from home (so the internet connection was good) and everything looked normal. I stopped and started the Okta service but it didn't seem to have an immediate impact. A few minutes later I get the alert that the agent reconnected, just like it happens when I don't intervene.

How to troubleshoot? Any logs anywhere?

Thanks

This is a great link to help you find the location of and read the AD Agent Logs, as well as enable "Verbose" logging to give you a bit more information.

How to Retrieve Okta Logs for Troubleshooting

Although I am assuming we are talking about AD Agent Logs, it does refer to Radius Agent logs as well.

One thing I would recommend is try to match up timestamps between the log findings where the agent disconnected and logs in Event Viewer on the machine itself. This may help you understand what is happening on the machine the agent is installed on and give insight as to where the root cause of the issue might be.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
