Hi,
I have forgotten my admin account password for the following dev tenant (its been a few months since I last logged on):
I have tried my email address and also the short name as my username but am still unable to login. Clicking the "forgot my password" link just sends me an email informing me I need to contact the administrator to reset for password.
Please can help with the password recovery of the admin account?

Good luck, it was what worked for me as well. Once you verify ownership/identity etc it is a pretty straightforward solution. Would certainly suggest either a backup service account and/or additional admins if possible. You can always protect service account credentials in a tool like LastPass. And of course, password reset functionality if that fits into your security goals. Thanks!
With personal experience of your current situation, it will come down to two options really:
1) Contact Okta support and work with them to regain access to your dev tenant. This was the option I chose as I had come into an org where the previous admin had left prior and there were no other admins available to help me or colleagues access the tenant. You should be able to select the dev tenant when opening your support case.
2) Reach out to another Super Admin in your org and, if they have admin access to the dev tenant above, work with them to get you access (Reset password, etc.).
Assuming you do not have the Password Reset flow configured, which it seems like you do not, these are really your two fastest and likely the only options to get you back in to the tenant.
