wtvoe (wtvoe) asked a question.
We are looking to migrate our users to OKTA eventually, however to phase out work we would like to use our SQL database for our users store initially since we already have many.
Is it possible for OKTA to use our SQL database to create users accounts with required fields and sign in this users? Basically we will implements just endpoints/interfaces for OKTA to use so we could leverage our user store. And later on migrate them to OKTA.
In a sense our SQL database will be an identity provider for OKTA.

Hello,
Thank you for your help with a research.
Seems like this solution will require Access Gateway configuration and maintenance.
Is there any other solution? For example seems like developing External IDP could be one of it, to implement interfaces/endpoints for OKTA to use. Basically we will implement custom external Identity Provider against our SQL database which OKTA will use. Is this something possible?
Hi, @wtvoe (wtvoe)
As the use case you raised requires a very custom implementation, I suggest you contact your Account Executive to check which other solutions might be at hand.
Additionally, my advice would be to leverage the Okta Developer forums for this type of questions and take advantage of their expertise.
