Migrate users from one Okta org to another and retain the User ID

 

Is there a way to migrate the users in one organization into another that retains the user ids?

We're looking to reconfigure our organization structure to support data residency which potentially means moving users from one org to another - and ideally we want to do this without having to update application data to reference new Okta user ids.

Is that possible?

    This is currently not possible. The userID is unique and generated automatically upon user creation.  

    You can suggest a feature enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.

      if there is not a Feature to support this, does OKTA offer any Professional Services support to move OKTA organization data from One OKTA organization in say US cluster to another OKTA org say EU/Dublin. Again we Don't want to have our users have to setup all new user account in this nw OKTA as we audit off the OKTA UID and that would change.

      Can we escalate to see if there are other OKTA options to do what we have to do and who do we escalate to
