tuv60 (tuv60) asked a question.

Agent installation error - "Failed to configure Update Client."

When attempting to install the agent on a Windows Server, this error appears at the end.

 

The AD was identified in the panel, but it is waiting for the service to start, but it never starts.

 

We tried to install it again, but the same error occurs.

 

In the services we only identified the creation of the agent update service, but not the actual Okta service.

 

Can you help with the issue?

    I've seem this before where there is some kind of conflict with older installation files. 

    If you have multiple AD agents installed for redundancy, you can do this with one server at a time:

    > You'll need to uninstall the agent, delete the "Okta AD agent" folder from C:\Program Files(x86)\Okta\ (typical location if you haven't changed it), reboot the server, and retry the install.
