dutfm (dutfm) asked a question.
We would like to switch from Okta to Auth0, but would rather not use the "trickle migration" approach. Instead we would rather export all our users from Okta, with their credentials (password hashes), and then import them into Auth0. Looks like Auth0 has such an import system, but I cannot find any way to export from Okta WITH password hashes (the credentials always show as `{}` in the API request).
Is there anyway to retrieve those password hashes?

Hi @dutfm (dutfm) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
I'm not sure if you had a chance to review the following article but ti seems to suggest that users would be imported with they credentials.
https://auth0.com/docs/manage-users/user-migration/user-migration-scenarios
My advice would be to reach out to https://support.auth0.com/ as Support is currently handled separately, and they should know more about the migration process.
If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!

Hi Mihai - thank you for the information on importing acounts with passwords into Auth0. I have also opened a ticket in our enterprise account support through Auth0.
The missing piece of the migration puzzle is how to export our current Okta users, with passwords, such that we can then import them into Auth0. Auth0 can do such an export via a support request. Is there a similar capability in Okra.
Or as a fallback, I'd like to be the first organization to bridge the gap and bring the divided Okta house together? Be the first to have users migration behind-the-scenes?
Regards,
Ryan Marshall
We currently don't have an out-of-the-box solution from this.
Perhaps check in with you Account Executive or Customer Success manager. (if you don't have their contact info open a ticket and Support will put you in touch)
You can suggest this as a Feature Enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab.
