RubyM.45323 (Customer) asked a question.

How to assign applications based on user type using expressions ?

/help/servlet/rtaImage?refid=0EM4z000004Yz13

I have two user types, user and manufacturing. I need to assign apps to manufacturing based on user type. I've set userType=="manufacturing.userType", but seems to be looking for userType in the profile fields instead of the OU selection.

The above seems to be looking at /help/servlet/rtaImage?refid=0EM4z000004Yz1r

which is being left blank by us.

Basically, trying to set expression based on the first image. Please help/advice.

    Hi Ruby,

I would perhaps try this solution:

    1. Create a new Okta group (Test Users in my example).
    2. Assign this group to the related application.
    3. Create a new group rule (Directory > Groups > Rules) and use an expression for the "IF" part. Maybe use some manufacturing attribute which should never be null, like below.

    rule

    -Jani
