v4sdv (v4sdv) asked a question.

How to check if an integration is using SAML 2.0 (not 1.1)?

How can I check if an integration is using SAML 2.0? I took the Okta Essentials class, where the instructor emphasized strongly to use SAML 2.0 if we use SAML. I can definitely see why, for security reasons.

Yet, when I look at the description for this integration, https://www.okta.com/integrations/new-relic-by-account/, it doesn't mention anything about the version of SAML that's supported, just that it supports SAML. Is there another place I should look? Or are integrations that don't support 2.0 flagged?

    Hi @v4sdv (v4sdv),

Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!

The applications from OIN that Okta Verified and that have the capability to use SAML, are using the SAML 2.0 version. As well, I have verified the application provided by you as an example (to be certain about the SAML version) and it is using SAML 2.0.

I hope the above information is useful!
