rmss1 (rmss1) asked a question.
As we all know, the new Admin UI does not have the link to download metadata on the sign on tab, as it was in the classic UI.
I have seen this question asked many times, but it always gets answered by referring to the below article which is not of any help! Please don't link me back to this: https://support.okta.com/help/s/question/0D51Y00006RYxjeSAD/with-okta-admin-changes-how-do-i-find-identity-provider-metadata-url?language=en_US
If you follow this link, the answer provided is not relevant to the new admin UI. On the sign on tab, of SAML enabled application, there is no longer the link to download metadata, but the article referenced above says it is. Further if you click on the Setup Instructions button, you are only presented with the metadata TEXT, but no link or option to download.
How can we download the metadata under the new UI? Switching to the classic UI is no longer an option... As mentioned before, under the new admin UI we have to copy the metadata text, paste it into a blank text file and save it as .xml. This is not convenient. Also some applications want the URL instead of the text or file.
Where did the metadata link go and how can we restore this seemingly simple functionality?

Hello @rmss1 (rmss1) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!
The link for the metadata is located still on the Sign On tab, under "SAML Signing Certificates" under Actions for the Active certificate. Please see the screenshot below:
