7dn1i (7dn1i) asked a question.

How is the application username determined?

Hi all,

On the application's Sign On page, it says the "Application username is determined by the user profile mapping", with a handy link taking you to its profile mapping page.

On the application's User Profiles Mapping page, it says the "Username is set by <application>", with a handy link taking you back to the application's Sign On page.

And so we hit an infinite loop. So how is the application username determined? And can Okta amend the text to reflect this?

Hello @7dn1i (7dn1i)  Thank you for reaching out to our Community!

I have checked a few applications on my environment and that option to be send to the mapping is not present. However the application Username is set on the Sign On tab of the application and not from the mappings.

Please also note that if you make changes to the application username, once you save the changes, use the Update Now button to apply the changes as well.

    Hope this helps!
