bejzy (bejzy) asked a question.

How does Okta know what language email to send?

Hello,

We have our activation email in 3 different languages. It's all set up and ready in Okta. However, how does Okta know what language to send to each user? Is it something we should setup per user.

    Hi @bejzy (bejzy),

Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!

I have done some research on my end and it seems like Okta determines the language based on the value of the locale attribute from the user's Okta profile. For example, if the user has the value of this attribute set to fr_FR, the activation email will be sent in french.

I hope the above information is useful!

Perfect, thank you very much. I have a follow up question: can I set a language on group level, so I set a language once for a group and it applies to everyone in that group? If yes, how should I do that?

    Warm regards,

    Sina
