Is it possible to set our own client secret in an application? The only option I see is to generate a new one automatically.

The only option currently is to have the system generate a client secret for you.
You can suggest a custom client secret feature on the Okta Community by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members of the community, therefore making it much easier for the engineering team to understand the priorities that you have for feature requests.
