OKTA - Google IdP - get organization and country

Hello,

I am using Google IdP for social login, and I had 2 questions regarding 2 fields.

  1. Is there any way to get the user's country from his google profile and map it to the okta user profile? This might not be provided by google, I am not sure.
  2. In the Google profile, when I want to add an additional attribute, I see the "organization" attribute was auto-discovered by OKTA for the Google IdP schema. However, even if I map it to the okta user profile, I don't see this information being populated, no matter which google account I tried to use. It's always empty, even for my corporate google account, which should have the organization. Do you happen to know how I can fetch the organization from the google account?

Thank you,

Irina Albu

    Hello @IrinaA.60264 (Customer)

I hope you are having a great day

Thank you for posting, Okta attributes are mapped to the Google User Schema in the Google Directory API. In some cases, the Google Admin user interface and Contacts app user interface are inconsistent with this Google User Schema but you may need to reach the Google support to determine if google profile can map and route the information to okta.

you can learn more about this topic using the following link:

    I hope this helps !

    Have a great day ahead
