x6c3a (x6c3a) asked a question.
Currently, in our Okta account we have a bunch of groups coming from google workspace, we'd like to standardize all groups within Okta and these Google groups for some reason we cannot remove in Okta. The Actions button is greyed out and all we see is an info message saying "This group's membership cannot be modified because the group is managed automatically by Okta"
When we delete these Google groups in Google Workspace, these groups for some reason still "stay" in Okta, so we have a bunch of outdated groups hanging around in Okta.

Hello @x6c3a (x6c3a)
Thanks for posting.
There are some different ways to accomplish this.
1- Log into the Okta Admin Dashboard, then click on Applications > Applications > More > Refresh Application Data.
2- Navigate to G suite > Provisioning > API integration > Re-authenticate with G-suite
3- Log in to the Okta Admin console
Navigate to the G Suite application in question
Click on Import > Click Import Now
To verify that new Groups are showing up in Okta:
In the G Suite application, click on Assignments
Click the Edit "Pencil" button to view one of the current users, under Groups dropdown, you should be able to see the new Groups.
New Groups should also show up when assigning the G Suite application to new users, and Deleted groups should dissapear.
