15t78 (15t78) asked a question.

Self Service Entitlement in Approver option

When I am enabling the self service option for any application, I have to turn on the request in option as mentioned here https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Apps/apps-selfservice-configureapprovalflow.htm

There are 03 options in entitlement ; Hidden,Read,Write

I read the description that approver can modified/read/hidden attributes but when I am selecting hidden or write option in entitlement then its not working at approver end so I don't know what exactly these functions doing.

Even I tried with Normal user (non-admin) as an approver, but he still can see the attributes for requested participant and for super admin, when we select the write we can't modified the user attributes at approval end

I need to know what exactly their functions and difference between them.

  • Hello @15t78 (15t78)

I hope you are having a great day

    Thank you for posting

According to the documentation this is the way it should work.

    • Hidden: The approver can't view the account attributes.
    • Read: The approver can view but can't modify the account attributes.
    • Write: The approver can edit the account attributes.

If this option is not working properly for you and you still need further assistance you can open a case with our service desk, in the link below you can find the information needed to open the support case: https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Directory/get-support.htm

    Have a great day ahead

    Regards
