nwwqv (nwwqv) asked a question.

Does OKTA API can be exposed as SOAP webservice?

Hi Friends,

we have an existing IDP( SiteMinder) which is integrated with SAP ERP System with SOAP API.

we are looking to implement OKTA as IDP( OKTA will be replacing SiteMinder), we would like to have minimal impact on SAP end. Does OKTA API supports SOAP as per our use case?

Kindly advise

Thank you

Hi Ravi Singh, this is Eusebiu from Okta Support and I will attempt to provide as much information as possible.

Okta currently doesn't support SOAP API directly, but we are sure that we have a solution for you (workflows could be an alternative). In order to better understand your options, you could raise a ticket with our support team, and we could provide further guidance after we understand exactly your needs, your environment and your current setup.

  • Hello Ravi Singh,

    Thanks for posting.

Yes, it's possible to interact with SOAP APIs using Okta Workflows.

    • Workflows has XML Build and XML Parse functions.
    • XML Build can be used to construct the payloads you intend to send to the SOAP service.
    • XML Parse can be used to convert the XML to JSON in order to be used downstream in a flow.
    • Finally, an HTTP - Raw Request card can be used to interact with the service.

Let us know if this helps you.

    Daniela Chavarria.
