The information you noted does not answer my question...I have new M365 O365 E5 licenses for Microsoft. I have set up a group in Okta to put the users in to autoprovision the license for them in Microsoft. When I add that group to the Microsoft application in Okta, I have to select licenses in Okta that will automatically give them the M365 O365 E5 license in Microsoft (see picture below), but I can't for the life of me figure out which one(s) to choose.

It shows you all the licenses that you have in your 365 tenant. Maybe there is an easier way but I backed into it by looking at a user that was imported from 365 with the same license. It would mostly be the one's with the SPE_E5 prefix, but I find there are a few you exceptions some times.

Yeah, I have tried that using different scenarios but unfortunately we have a M365 M5 license as well as O365 E5 license and it keeps assigning the M365 M5 license. Do you think there will be a new set of licenses that need to be applied to the O365 E5 license and I shouldn't be using the SPE_E5 for the new O365 E5 license?

The prefix for a user with Office 365 E5 shows in my tenant as: Office 365 Enterprise E5. And it will only show licenses that you have an available seat.

I don't have any options with that prefix. Do you think they just haven't been added to my domain yet? BTW, thank you so much for your help...I have been struggling with trying to set these licenses up in Okta correctly!

if it does not show up in Okta I believe that you do not have any open licenses in your 365 tenant. It is a bit more involved than just doing it natively in 365. 🙂

So we just purchased these licenses 2 days ago so we have 350 of them. Do you think they just haven't added them to Okta yet?

  • DrewD.47545 (Customer)

That seems unlikely. Unless there is something else going on, I think we could make them show up by going into the 365 app in Okta, Provisioning Tab, and we click the test API button.

I clicked the test API button and they are there now!! You're a genius! You don't know how much this has helped me and I'm forever in your debt!! Thank you so much!!
