nrooe (nrooe) asked a question.

User Verification - Non-biometric phones?

I want to enable biometrics for my org with it being (required) but got a not from a user advising he can't log in because his phone does not support biometrics?

I don't see his phone under devices and waiting for him to tell me what phone model it is, but this opens the question for when I roll this out. If a user does not have touch or face id, what happens when User Verification is set to required?

  • Hello @nrooe (nrooe)

    Thanks for posting.

An admin can set the re-authentication frequency to Once per device for all rules in the app sign-on policy.

    - or -

An end user can do any of the following:

    • Click Sign in using Okta Verify when accessing the app from the Okta End-User Dashboard.
    • Enable Extra Verification for your Okta Verify account (go to Okta Verify, and then see Manage accounts > Configure account details for the relevant platform).
    • Access the app directly (not from the Okta End-User Dashboard). Make sure you use a different browser, or a different browser session than you used when you added an account to Okta Verify.
