API credential issue

I'm receiving this error: Automatic provisioning of user X to app Box failed: Could not verify that the user exists. The credentials used to connect to the API were invalid; please check your configuration.

the person who set up the API and configured Okta is no longer here. Can I get some guidance on how I can fix this? Thank you

    Thanks for posting. 

     

    Regarding the Box matter, the error message points out that something might be wrong with the account used for the API Authentication, under the provisioning settings of the app. Here's what I would suggest:

     

    - Make sure that you have an existing Box session, signed in as a Box Admin;

     

    - Re-authenticate again the API, under-provisioning;

     

    - Re-assign the user to the application.

     

    The API account can be found under the application's Provisioning tab, in the left panel, under API Integration.

     

    Looks like the credentials used for the API integration are not correct or have issues so they need to be changed, the credentials are in the App > Provisioning > integration > Edit > Authenticate with the app. Once get a successful attempt for the authentication just went to tasks and edit the user(s) with errors, or, go to app assignments and remove and re-add the user.

     

    That account must be a Super Admin account on the App side so Okta can use it to provide a fine and do the queries to the app.
