m0m7x (m0m7x) asked a question.

Initial sign-on blocked by MFA set-up

I've just tried to log-in and been prompted by the message:

Set up multifactor authentication

Your company requires multifactor authentication to add an additional layer of security when signing in to your Okta account

But when I use the app, I receive the message (- so can't access the 'Admin'?!):

Your organization does not support sign-in verification

How the heck am I supposed to use Okta as an OP for an OIDC SSO process (- if it's blocking me during the sign-in)??

  • HI Dennis,

    I hope you are great!

This usually happen at the time of the initial status you need to configure more details as security password, new password (not temp), admin rights not set correctly (or to another user), MFA options not available to be setup and other possible reason.

If you are not the super administrator, please let the Super Admin know to verify the MFA settings and verify there is an option selected.

Also, if you are an Admin, try to access:   https://{yourSubdomain}.okta.com > if you are able to access here, do you see the admin button at the upper right corner? If you don't see it, means the admin access has not been activated for your user.

If this issue still happening, please open a support case to verify what is happening to your user access.

    Thank you,

    Mario Vasquez
