RobertF.13401 (Customer) asked a question.

Does Single Logout also log you out of your Identity Provider

I see the documentation for Single logout https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Apps/Apps_Single_Logout.htm

I dont see any reference to logging the user out of the Identity Provider they used to log in to Okta with.

So If I set up a Google or SAML or OIDC Identity Provider and logged in to Okta with that will single logout log me out of that Identity Provider aswell ?

    Hi Robert,

This is Marius with Okta support. I'm afraid that the Single Logout feature will log you out of the Okta session when you choose to log out from the application SLO is set up for. If an IdP is used to log into Okta (eg Google), the IdP session will not be terminated. That would be because Okta cannot send a logout request over to Google.

I hope this answers your question.

    Cheers,
