NickW.38246 (Customer) asked a question.

Using Okta as just an IDP to authenticate Okta users from any organisation

Hi, this maybe a bit of a noob question but I have an app that currently uses Microsoft or Google to authenticate users. A user would just click on Login with Microsoft, they'd be directed to the Microsoft login page, enter their username and password then get redirected back to my app with a user token. I want to do the same with Okta, basically when someone wants to login using Okta, they get directed to an Okta login page, they login and then get redirected back to my app. Is there a simple way to do this like with MS and Google or do we need to invest in the OIN (or other) route?

Many thanks, Nick.

I hope I understand your question correctly - Currently your app is using Microsoft as IDP as a standard SSO feature, nothing looks fancy and you want to replace that with OKTA or you want to put an extra link on your app page to login with OKTA. This can be done in similar way like normal app integration with OKTA. You can check the OKTA document for SSO, app integration etc.

One think I wish to highlight your detail question description is not matching with the question heading where you say any organization.
