Our current process is not to create users prior to their hire date in UKG Pro. For OKTA we are looking at creating users prior to hire date. It seems this may create some issues for payroll. We would like to speak with someone who is currently using UKG Pro payroll and enters new hires prior to start date. (Sorry, I'm not sure what category to choose for this question.)

Secondly, based on my understanding of the issue, you want users in Okta without creating them in UKG.
You can create the in Okta, give them the groups and applications as intended, and then have the users coming from UKG matching with the actual Okta users, based on your import settings.

What we want to do is add new hires to UKG prior to their hire date, so that the information can flow to OKTA ahead of the hire date. Our current process is to enter new hires on or after their actual start date. We are in the early stages of testing, but have already noticed some impacts of the future-dated entries, such as users appearing in headcount reports and org chart when they are not yet active employees. We are looking for an actual UKG/OKTA customer who uses future-dated hiring successfully.
