I'd like to test Okta in our environment with Office 365. What is the best way to do that?
I was hoping I could somehow configure Okta to work with one small group of test users and then once setup and tested working, add the rest of the company to the correctly configured test setup for rolling out to production.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The only way you would be able to test is if you have an O365 test tenant. Once you enable federation, all authentication requests will be redirected to Okta. It is not possible to target a test group.
I'll look into it. Test Okta tenant to test O365 tenant is the only way it seems. Thanks.
I heard this is still possible with the staged rollout approach mentioned here. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/how-to-connect-staged-rollout
I didnt try this yet but i heard this works.
I decided to move into a sandbox Office 365 tenant and a Okta test server. I'm working through the details here and here. It's all really confusing so far, yet I'm going to try and get it setup and post questions as I they arise. Thanks.
I don't see any info and am unsure how it would affect testing - can we use a subdomain for our existing company domain for testing or do I need a new, top level domain?
Wish this was answered. I almost federated my domain just because I was tired of looking for the answer. HA. Good thing it didn't work and then I wound up here.
